The Foundation
Fifty Plus Foundation Inc. has been raising funds since 2011 starting through a racing team called Highway to Help. The team competed on the IMSA racing circuit to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease. In January 2015, the team raced for the fourth consecutive year at the Rolex 24 at the Dayton International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Drivers through the years included Byron DeFoor, Jim Pace, David Hinton, Dorsey Schroeder and Brian Johnson, lead singer of AC/DC. Brian and his wife Brenda are both race car drivers and supporters with Byron in the race for a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
In 2019, the Fifty Plus Foundation expanded its efforts for raising money and awareness and hosted the inaugural Chattanooga Motorcar Festival in Tennessee. Byron DeFoor, Event Founder, and Jim Pace, the Chief Operating Officer, created a car festival that borrows the style of its European counterparts by incorporating unique classic car events tailored to the vintage and historic car collector and racer with the welcoming hospitality that is the hallmark of the American South.
Events during the festival include fun activities for children and adults, celebrity meet and greets, car club gatherings, specialty displays, Concours d’Lemons, Automobilia Marketplace, street festivals, a parades, an auction, and much more. The festival created an exclusive club, the J. Willard Marriott Ferrari Club, to host unique Ferraris from all over the world A gala is held each year to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s and other neurological diseases. The weekend ends with the highly anticipated Concours d’Elegance.
Approaching 13 years in Alzheimer’s and neuroscience support, Fifty Plus Foundation, Inc hosts the 5th annual Chattanooga Motorcar Festival to bring local and global support to back research that is making a difference in saving lives.
Funds raised through the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival benefit the Neuroscience Innovation Foundation (NIF). They work hand in hand to bring advances in neurological medicine forward for the benefit of all. Funds will directly support advancing research in Alzheimer’s Disease and other neurological diseases.
